The 2014 “Jade Merchants’ Return to Hometown Investment Promotion Conference” was held, during which jade merchants returning home signed major deals worth 5.8 billion yuan.

From December 16 to 17, a delegation of private entrepreneurs participating in the “Jade Merchants Return Home” initiative returned to their hometown of Yulin to conduct investment surveys, rekindling their ties with their hometown and engaging in lively discussions about development. On the morning of the 17th, our city held an investment promotion conference for private entrepreneurs under the “Jade Merchants Return Home” initiative. Secretary Wang Kai of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Su Haitang attended the investment promotion conference.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government, and the more than 7 million people of Yulin, Wang Kai warmly welcomes Yulin-based entrepreneurs to return home to invest, establish businesses, and engage in exchanges and mutual learning. He also expressed gratitude for their years of care, support, and assistance in the development of their hometown. He noted that since the beginning of this year, despite a highly challenging and complex macroeconomic environment, Yulin City has maintained a steady and positive economic trajectory. Several key economic indicators have shown growth rates ranking among the highest in the entire region. Furthermore, Yulin has been approved as one of the second batch of national pilot zones for rural reform and has been recognized as the “Pharmaceutical Capital of Southern China.” These remarkable achievements would not have been possible without the strong cooperation and active participation of the vast number of Yulin-based entrepreneurs.

Wang Kai said that the Yulin culture—cultivated and nurtured by our ancestors through generations of joint efforts—is the essence of Yulin’s cultural heritage. It represents the culmination of cultural qualities from Lingnan culture, Hakka culture, and the culture of overseas Chinese hometowns. Today, in line with the autonomous region’s development strategy of “dual-core drive and integrated planning for three zones,” we are proposing to deepen reform comprehensively, fully integrate into the dual-core drive, and implement in full the strategy of “relying on the east and heading south, connecting rivers to the sea.” Our goal is to build Yulin into “two cities and one center.” Over the next three to five years, we will lay a solid foundation in transportation, industry, urban development, culture, ecology, people’s livelihoods, and social development, striving to transform Yulin into a regional metropolis, a national demonstration city for the development of the non-public sector, and a commercial and trade hub for the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration. Next year and during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the municipal Party committee and municipal government will devote all their efforts to three major undertakings: “renovating the airport, building a new port, and connecting to the high-speed railway”—thus establishing a modern, integrated transportation network. We will also make every effort to strengthen our industrial base, focusing on developing “eight major industries” and “eight major industrial parks.” Furthermore, we will work hard to consolidate our urban foundation, achieve integration between Yulin and Beihai, accelerate the implementation and construction of “Five-Color Pastoral Areas,” and create a core urban area, transforming Yulin into a green, ecological, pastoral, and urban metropolis. Yulin’s future development holds broad prospects, vast space, and abundant opportunities. We hope that Yulin’s business community and their teams will continue to pay close attention to Yulin and focus particularly on the development of their hometown.

Huang Dong, President of the Yushang General Association, stated in his speech that it is essential to fully leverage the association's unique characteristics and strengths, effectively integrate the diverse resources of member enterprises and members, operate with integrity, build a strong brand for Yushang products, and make new contributions to promoting the economic and social development of Yulin.

The project signing ceremony was held at the investment promotion conference. A total of 11 projects were signed this time, with a total investment of 5.863 billion yuan. These signed projects include: the Yulin Old Street Construction Project of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce; the Yulin Dreamy Overseas Chinese Cultural and Tourism City Project in Yuzhou District; the Comprehensive Wholesale Market for Agricultural, Animal Husbandry, and Aquatic Products and Cold-Chain Logistics Distribution Center Project in Fumian District; the Guangxi Hongchao Industrial Co., Ltd. Project in Beiliu City; the Elite Leather Goods Project in Rong County; the Induction Cooker and Electric Rice Cooker Production Project in Luchuan County; the Tanglin West Street LeGou Plaza Project in Yuzhou District; the Supporting Facilities Construction Project for the Wicai Tianyuan Area in Yudong New Area; the Jianhong Plywood Production Project in Bobai County; the Annual Processing Capacity of 70,000 Tons of Scrap Metal Project by Tianyi Investment Co., Ltd. in Xingye County; and the Concrete Products Production and Raw Material Processing Project in Longtan Industrial Park.
